    Description

Offering for your consideration is this
Vintage, probably Antique Glass Electric Wall Sconce.
The sconce is in excellent condition for its age with a chip on the top near the hole for wall hanging, probably a result of removing from the wall hanger.  There is also a 2 inch square piece of mirror on the wall section of the glass behind the hook that is black spotted as a result of de-silvering.  The original candle sleeve; cotton wrapped cord and 2 prong plug are all indicative of an age of 1930 or earlier but there are no makers marks or dates anywhere to be found.  When
I purchased this at a yard sale several years ago, I was told it dated to the 1920's or early 30's.
The lamp works but I never used for a light at my house due to concern of the old wiring.  The hook neck and other assembly pieces are metal with lots of patina so I am not sure the type.  I believe this to be pressed glassed as there appears to be a mold line in one location
    BUT
the glass is heavier than most pressed (1 pound 6 ounces) and appears to contain some lead since it glows a definite yellow green color when tested with a black light (see last photo).  The piece without a shade is about
    8 inches high x 4"W x 6"
projection from wall.  It is turned on and off with a rotary switch that has an L embossed on the round plastic knob.  The cord is very stiff and measures about  53" in length.  It has very minimal fraying in one or two locations. Both prongs of the plug is the same size and are embossed with G57 LBR 660 250.  When I purchased the fixture, it did not have a shade and the one I used and the light bulb were for display only.
