Description
This is a rare newspaper from Hilger, Montana. Hilger was basically nearby Kendall, MT removed from the gold mining town site of Kendall in the North Moccasin Mountains to a few miles east to meet the advancing Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul and Pacific RR railroad line. Kendall had hoped to get the railroad but the rail company didn't want to build a line into the mountain preferring the more level plains. The Hilger Herald was published every Friday by Arthur R. Thompson, Editor and Publisher. Thompson previously had a newspaper at Kendall. This newspaper is folded in good condition with some wear on the edges as to be expected from an older newspaper.
