    Description

Pre-1920 cartoon by Clare Briggs (1875-1939) from a syndicated single panel cartoon series entitled
"When a Feller Needs a Friend"
"No we have nothing in the line of explosives--here is a nice little silk flag though--we sell lots of 'em."
"Ain'tch got any pistols or paper caps or torpeders misser Jenks."
"Jiminy Chris-mus ain'cha got no firecrackers or nuthin!?"
Published in the New York Tribune, Wednesday, July 3, 1916. Original, not a reproduction. Cropped size 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches as shown in the first image. Some tiny tears to edges with acid free tape repairs on the backside. Tanning paper and fragile but not brittle. Should be handled with care. Comes with a scanned hard-copy.
