In my high school, Mary Maguire, Chris Siano and their chosen minions were the “mean girls,” whose goal it was to make sure a lot of girls would forever have a bitter memory of their high school experience. Luckily, there were also the antithesis of mean girls, nice girls who managed to achieve their goals AND be kind, helpful and encouraging to their fellow girlkind. In Barbie’s world, a group of nice girls kept their eyes on the prize, earning scholarships to attend a private girls’ boarding school that offers college-level curriculum courses as well as an interesting variety of extracurricular activities. These are their stories.THIS auction is for music major Eberlee Larkspur, nicknamed “Canary.” She IS included with the outfit. Eberlee’s family nicknamed her “Canary” because from the time she started pre-school, she sang her way through the day, chirping, trilling and warbling to tunes both known and unknown to her family. Fearless where most were timid, Eberlee was quick to lead her classmates in the singing of the National Anthem and God Bless America whenever given the opportunity. Her pastor recognized her gift and when the church got a new piano, Eberlee got her first musical instrument, a worn but melodic Steinway. Other instruments followed—a flute, a hammer dulcimer, a French horn, and a marimba that just showed up in the driveway of the family home one morning. Besides performing with the school’s glee club and holding First Chair French horn in the school’s orchestra, Eberlee loves the thrill of running full tilt down the soccer field. Instead of a victory dance, she leads her team in a “We Are the Champions” victory song when they win a competition.
Her senior quote: “Music can change the world.” –Beethoven
For her senior picture, she is wearing a (Barbie label) red cheerleader-style skirt, paired with a white tee with a lips decal under a black and white houndstooth cropped jacket. Her 22 accessories include: white panties, white slip-on loafers, a black and white polka dot grosgrain ribbon purse with white bow, a black and white houndstooth backpack with fleur-de-lis applique, a silver chain belt with a music bar hang charm, a white beaded bracelet, black treble clef earrings, red sunglasses, music theory and composition textbook, “Music Week” magazine, composition notebook, student I.D. card with her photo, cell phone with musical notes cover, credit card, cash, pink brush, tissue pack, soccer ball,
a “Strong” energy bar, a French horn, a pink microphone, and Beethoven’s 5
th
symphony sheet music poster for her dorm room. I accidentally photographed a pair of cat ears with her accessories. They go with a different NOT Mean Girl and are NOT included with this doll.
All the clothing has been freshly laundered and mended if necessary. Unless noted as new, assume the clothing pieces saw some play time before I acquired them for this Nice Girls fashion project.
