Antique GE 40W, 15V Light Bulb, 12" Overall Length

Description

Another bulb from the collection of my late, lighting engineer friend and bulb collector, Walter Gillett.
•
According to Walt's niece, he worked for General Electric many years ago, so had opportunity to foster his extensive bulb collection.
• At the top of the bulb is a partly rubbed off label, showing it to be of the
GE 40W,15V
variety (last 2 images).
• The glass tube measures 11" (not including the base) and 1" in diameter.
• The 3rd and 4th images show that the very fine filament is intact (center of image).  Not having the equipment to properly test the bulb without risking burning it out, I can only test it with an ammeter - there
is
continuity.
