Item up for sale is the original and complete, October 30th 1929, edition of the New York, Albany Evening News; the lead story of the day was of the one day recovery of the NY Stock Market after the blood letting of Black Monday, (10/28/1929,) and Black Tuesday, (10/29/1929,) in which the market went into a full freefall, losing 23% of its value. The market would recoup some of its losses on October 30th, but the handwriting was on the wall as early as Black Thursday, October 24th, 1929 when the decline began in earnest. The following day, October 25th, 1929, Black Friday, saw the largest sell off of shares in Market history. The decline was due to the unbridled speculation that was common in the "Roaring 1920's." The collapse of the market would signal the Great Depression. This is a super rare newspaper that is in good condition for its age ( 91 years old.)
